Dr. Seema Sharma is a Professor in the area of Economics in the Department of Management Studies at IIT Delhi. Her research interests are Sustainable Development, Productivity & Efficiency analysis, Policy Analysis and Socio-economic Analysis. Her research is published in high impact international refereed journals by publishers such as Springer, Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, Sage and Emerald etc. She has travelled to countries viz., USA, Japan, Australia, Thailand, Indonesia and Czech Republic to present her research in conferences. She teaches Managerial Economics, Macroeconomic Environment of Business, Statistical Analysis, and Advanced Data Analysis to MBA and Ph. D students at IIT Delhi. She has written a book – STATISTICS for Business and Economics published by WILEY.

She is the recipient of the Outstanding Young Faculty Fellowship Award by IIT Delhi for her contribution to teaching and research. She was conferred with Best Professor in Economics Award by Hindustan Unilever-BSA-Dewang Mehta Business School Award in 2012.

Most of her corporate consulting work, inter alia, centers on devising strategies for growth and sustainable survival in the long run.  Apart from consulting assignments, she has done research projects funded by government agencies such as Indian Council for Social Science and Research (ICSSR), Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF), Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, and Khadi and Village Industries Commission. She is also working on sustainable development of Rural India under Unnat Bharat Abhyan, an initiative by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Government of India.
